Chief developer Alex Kent discusses the recent hardware and software changes to the SpaceNode Network that has resulted in dramatic improvements across the board. Discussion includes speeding up the network (hardware upgrades, moving to multiple web server platform, implementing load-balancing cache servers) and new features (Article Category block, Random Item block, Menu DropDown block).
In September 2009 we released version 5.0 of the software which runs the SpaceNode Network and at the time, we had created a nice to use content management system which had a similar feature set to other DIY website providers. Roll on 6 months and we are pleased to announce version 5.1 which turns SpaceNode into an absolute joy to use. By combining the new features with the latest themes by professional designers Silvia Hartmann and Nikki Burdett and you have one amazing content management system. Yesterday, technicians installed a big update to the SpaceNode Theme System which is responsible for the look and feel of your sites. The new system allows the creation of infinite Themes for SpaceNode owners to choose for their sites. The ThemeCreator module is currently being tested by SpaceNode admins before it becomes available to premium account holders.
The website of The Association for Meridian Energy Therapies, TheAMT.com has today been converted into a SpaceNode. The whole site took less than a day to move everything across from the former PHP Nuke. TheAMT.com is dead, long live TheAMT.com!
Stephen Nightingale becomes the first SpaceNode "outsider" to be presented with a website Kabbie.co.uk. Stephen said in his first post to the site: "[Alex Kent, lead developer] you are a genius sir and I love the website and domain!!! Thanks dude!"

Today, Sunday 1st November, SpaceNode has received it's first message sent through the contact forms from someone interested in having their own site. They clicked the 'This Site is a SpaceNode' link at the bottom of DragonRising's Hypnosis Product Listing.
